Jan 10, 2014 Dual Android/Microsoft Devices: What Might They Mean for Apps?

At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, device manufacturers are debuting systems that run both Windows 8.1 and the Android operating system, so-called PC Plus or Dual OS devices. This could lead to some interesting consequences for firms that maintain mobile apps.

Here’s the scenario: Large numbers of consumers already enjoy an abundant array of Android games that they may well relish playing on a PC’s bigger display. This could kick off consumer expectations for apps that are optimized for touch, mouse, phone, tablet, and PC. The expectations driven by gamers may then spill over to users of other commercial apps.

Interesting times ahead, indeed.
