Keeping Printers Running, the Business Humming
Our interface lets dozens of networked printers sing out when there’s an issue, so IT can be on the problem before other office staff knows there is one.
Sam, the head of small, hardworking IT team at a client firm, needed a hand. His team was responsible for maintaining a fleet of dozens of different kinds of networked printers, at least some of which were always on the fritz, leading to frustrated cries for help from his colleagues. Was there some way he could stay ahead of the game?
We created an application to auto-detect, and communicate via the network with the dozens of printer types, each in their own low-level “language” via the SNMP protocol. The system identifies problems and alerts the IT staff, often even before the end users are aware that anything’s wrong.
